Advantages of Credit Union Membership

You are the Owner

Unlike other financial institutions, Credit Unions like us are very unique in today’s world because we are owned by our members...everyday people just like you. Unlike banks that need to make a profit for shareholders, we are in business for the benefit of our members.

Because we are not-for-profit, we can offer members:

  • • Better deposit rates
  • • Lower fees
  • • Lower loan rates
  • • Free or low cost services

Because we are member owned, we are very careful with the investments we make in our own portfolio to generate income. Because we are careful with our investments, you can rest easy with the knowledge that your money is safe with us.

Your Deposits are Insured

All credit unions are monitored and regulated by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). The NCUA administers the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF) which provides federal insurance on all credit union deposits for at least $250,000. With NCUSIF’s backing, not a single penny of insured savings has ever been lost by a member of a federally insured credit union.
